Acting For Teens
Grades 7-12 (2 hrs)
ADVANCED THEATRE CLASS
Ages 13 and older (2 hrs)

This acting class, especially designed for teens, will allow our students to focus on the craft of acting as well as performance in a fun and creative environment. In May, our students will participate in a showcase, performed in our studio, featuring scenes from modern and classic plays. This showcase is a wonderful opportunity to let each teen be showcased (and allow them to strut their stuff in a scene with their fellow performers). Each scene or one-act play will be chosen to best suit the talents of the student.
Limit 16 per class.

This class is for the serious actor. Its primary focus is on character development, speech, and movement for the stage. In this particular class, the work and ethics of theatre performance are practiced at an advanced level. At the end of the year all the skills honed in class, will be showcased in a full-scale play in a professional theatre space.
Note: Students are invited by our artistic director to join this class and acceptance requires a minimum full year of study in one of our other programs. If a child has had previous serious theatre training or is a member of Actra or Equity or is coming from another program, he/she will be interviewed. (Space permitting). This is strictly an acting class – no singing or dancing is required.
